The Recruitment Specialist will work collaboratively within the Human Resources team to provide recruitment and selection services to management and staff members. In line with the organization’s values, the role supports the recruitment process for positions across Northeastern Ontario, with a focus on Patient Service role.

What will you do?
- Develops, implements and maintains recruitment and selection programs primarily for unionized positions;
- Provides support and advises hiring managers in the recruitment and selection process to ensure policies, procedures and collective agreements are followed;
- Develops and maintains job posting documents and recruiting tools (i.e. screening, interview, assessment, reference check etc.);
- Tracks the status of job postings and follows up with hiring manager as needed;
- Reviews and screens candidate resumes, schedules interviews, conducts interviews, checks references and maintains communication with candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process;
- Determines and may schedule and administer appropriate employment testing;
- Makes salary recommendations and completes necessary documentation as required;
- Communicates with candidates at the end of the recruitment process including making offers of employment and notifying unsuccessful candidates;
- Maintains complete and accurate recruitment and interview records;
- Prepares reports and metrics related to recruitment and selection as required (i.e. vacancy reports, talent acquisition data etc.);
- May attend career fairs and other employment promotional events;
- Other relevant tasks as requested.
What must you have?
- Relevant post-secondary education preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, similar related discipline or an appropriate combination of education, training and experience;
- Previous experience with the recruitment and selection function in a unionized environment;
- Knowledge of current principles and best practices in recruitment and selection;
- Knowledge of relevant HR legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act;
- Positive professional disposition, confidence, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to build rapport with others and put candidates at ease throughout the recruitment process;
- Ability to positively influence others to use effective human resources practices;
- Strong time management, organizational skills and the ability to work independently in order to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities;
- Proven attention to detail, and ability to compose business correspondence and reports that are concise, accurate and grammatically sound;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner when discussing issues with other Ontario Health atHome staff or external parties;
- Advanced keyboarding and data entry skills and proven proficiency with a variety of software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment managing relationships and processes both in-person and virtually.
What would give you the edge?
- Possession of, or progression towards, a Certified Human Resources Professional or Leader designation (CHRP/CHRL);
- Knowledge of Patient Service functions and roles;
- Experience in health care or public sector;
- Fluent in French or another language.
