Reporting to the Director, Information Technology Operations, this position will provide highly effective and efficient requirements gathering, project scope development and work planning and prioritization for a variety of departmental initiatives and the IT components of Provincial business projects. The Senior Business Analyst will also produce presentations, support business case development, and create process and information flow documentation.

What will you do?
- Serves as the project lead for assigned projects determined by the Director, Information Technology Operations and leads both local and Provincial initiative
- Works closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify business problems and user requirements for a range of initiatives
- Documents and analyzes workflow and information flow processes and leads the definition and validation of user requirements
- Conducts financial analysis including project and operating budget analysis
- Uses strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills to conduct interviews, workshops and meetings
- Supports business decision making through presentation of information, options and recommendations
- Develops business cases as required documenting the costs and benefits of proposed projects and initiatives
- Develops project charters, work plans, schedules, and project logs to ensure timely delivery.
- Identifies risks and implements appropriate mitigation strategies
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills, organizational and planning skills
- Self-directed with an ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and multi-task
- Handles complex problems in an expedient and efficient manner requiring professional judgment and latitude for independent action within generally defined policies and procedures
- Works closely with members of the IT team, business stakeholders, and the Strategy and Project Management Office
What must you have?
- University Degree in a related area such as Computer Science, or Business Administration
- Three (3) years related relevant experience.
- We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date.
What would give you the edge?
- Certificate in Business Analysis and/or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis) designation highly preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or certificate program in Project Management is preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare information technology and Project Management
- Experience in structured methodologies for the identification of users requirements and the development of specifications
- Knowledge of current health care industry issues with particular attention to health system integration/reform and community-based initiatives
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio etc.) and project management tools
