As a Patient Services Assistant, Ontario Health Team, Leading Project, you will provide support for the assigned team in their daily activities to ensure that patients receive prompt, effective customer service. 

As a supporting member of the Leading Project team, the Patient Services Assistant will contribute to the testing of home care models that improve integration, access, and patient outcomes and experience. By supporting the key activities of care coordination, the functions that the Ontario Health Teams Leading Project Patient Services Assistant performs will help to inform potential scale and spread of new models of home care, including system processes and supports.

What will you do?

  • Work at an advanced level within Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and the inter/intranet.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including the general public.
  • Analyze and resolve office administrative and procedural problems, interpret policies and procedures.
  • Set priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accuracy and speed with data entry and word processing.
  • Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and external stakeholders and work cooperatively as a member of the team with minimum supervision.
  • Manages logistics for meeting and event planning, including invitations, minute taking, location set up, teleconference support.
  • Supports preparation of agenda, presentations for meetings, minute taking and follows up on action items.
  • Manages data, report preparation, collating of information for specific projects and management teams.

 

 

What must you have?

  • Diploma from an Ontario Secondary School which includes general level Business and Commerce courses.
  • Medical terminology certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of Ontario Health atHome administrative practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, and discretion in dealing with confidential information.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a sound knowledge of the English language, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date.

 What would give you the edge?

  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, and office administrative procedures/concepts
  • Knowledge of services provided by Ontario Health atHome
  • Ability to speak French or another second language

Position Status: Temporary Full-Time (approx. 9 months)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (8:30am-4:30pm)
