Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring a secure and fiscally accurate comprehensive pay service for the Ontario Health atHome Toronto Central.
What will you do?
- Process bi-weekly payroll (such as calculations of premiums, overtime) by entering data, checking calculations, cross checking overtime etc.
- Processes information on hires, transfers, leaves, terminations, and wage adjustments.
- Verifies the accuracy of payroll inputted data through routine audits and checking the work of others.
- Process termination pay and completes Records of Employment (ROE’s).
- Assists in preparing monthly billings and remittances.
- Assists in reconciling monthly statements for Canada Revenue Agency, Employer Health Tax, Union Dues, WSIB and benefit plans.
- Assists in payroll year end processing such as T4s/T4As printing and mailing; pension plan reporting, T2200s preparation.
- Responds to staff and management inquiries regarding pay issues.
- Filing and maintenance of employee records.
- Ensure salary, pension and group benefits rate information is in accordance with contractual obligations, reconfigure system, conducts testing and implements changes as required
What must you have?
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- College Diploma (or equivalent) in payroll, benefits administration, human resources or other related fields.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a computerized payroll function
- PCP Designation an asset or College certification as Payroll Administrator (desirable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of payroll requirements, including CRA payroll rules, year-end reporting, EHT, WSIB etc.
- Familiarity with Collective Agreements, as well as related legislation such as Employment Standards Act.
- Knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS) guidelines as set out by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
- Proficiency with software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to data enter information with extreme accuracy under time constraints.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
