Ontario Health at Home is looking for an experienced leader to drive wellness initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development, the Wellness Lead is accountable for the leadership and performance of the provincial Employee Wellbeing and Wellness Program and is responsible for the development, implementation and management of programs and strategies.
What will you do?
- Responsible for planning, designing, obtaining leadership engagement for the ongoing development of employee wellness programs, including those specific to mental health, by researching health care sector best practices, medical & wellness trends
- Responsible for the development, delivery and/or the coordination of wellness programs and content, wellness and health promotion presentations and initiatives, development or curating newsletters and online resources for Ontario Health atHome employees
- Designs an evaluation strategy to inform recommendations for the ongoing development of the program and to ensure the program meets the needs of employees
- Writes reports for use by leadership in the development, implementation and delivery of programs, policy and procedures
- Prepares and launches marketing materials, in collaboration with Communications, and produces aggregate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the various wellness programs offered
- Chair of the provincial Wellness Steering Committee and coordinate committee activities
- Liaises with HROD teams, leaders and partners for the planning, designing and implementation of wellness programs
- Engages in the assessment, project identification, design, and integration of wellness engagement strategies
- Liaises with Occupational Health & Safety and Organization Development teams to develop and/or procure wellness-related training with a strong focus on mental-health
- Facilitates employee feedback to leadership on matters concerning employee wellness
What must you have?
- Undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: public health, health sciences, healthcare management, counselling or social work, social sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible professional level experience in leading and developing wellness initiatives, projects and programs, to include at least two (2) years managing or coordinating health programs and/or leading wellness projects and programs
- Familiarity with Employee Assistance Programs and their wellness offerings
- Experience working within a large multi-union employer
- Demonstrated track record for successfully setting and achieving goals, building/leading a team, identifying opportunities, and driving process improvement preferred
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders
- Proven communication abilities including active listening
- Group facilitation and collaboration skills
- Ability to influence and gain buy-in and support for wellness programs and initiatives
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date
